Well I got all excited yesterday when I discovered a path near my office that was covered in large scrunchy autumn leaves (just hope the manager wasn't watching me scuffing backwards and forwards with a big dopey grin on my face :o).

Then what happens overnight? It damn well rains!!!! All my nice scrunchy leaves are soggy and slippy :(

Heaps of leaves and autumnal colour here in Hamilton and Cambridge. 20 degrees here today too, so still some warmth left yet. After a couple of yrs in Hawkes Bay I did find myself kicking through scrunchy leaves at uni last week

A great day today here in Waikanae (again!). Last night my daughter watched my son playing rugby 5.30 pm - 6.30 pm last night in a t-shirt! A fine warm morning today, only disturbed by a cloudy, showery afternoon in Wellington (hospital with my daughter's broken elbow - owwww!) back to Waikanae, no sign of rain, 19 degrees at 5.30 pm outside woolworths buying tea!

PS. The difference between Wellington and 40 mins up the coast never fails to amaze me (fortunately!)

I love them  the streets are fantastically litter free, they look lovely & are shimmering from the rain. Makes me think about lighting a fire and snuggling up with a hot choc & movie.

Not quite the autumnal colour, but still lovley...... hey such is life.

Thank you for taking the time to post

Hi Deb (and others!)

I know you're thinking of the Kapiti coast (just north of Wellington), so here are a few shots taken on the beach after school this afternoon.

I love autumn here!

The winter was long and nasty. The summer was a washout. But my oh my, autumn has been a gift! Its like the autumns of my childhood that never really happened! :)

Well last winter was hardly long & nasty here in Auckland, damp and wet certainly. Summer though was excellent, loads of sunny days and little rain.
