Auckland bound!
Hello,
I stumbled across this site and thought I would introduce myself. I am Charlie, me and my partner will be leaving Leeds 15th May and getting to Auckland 16th June (little stopover in Malaysia and oz along the way).
I am a nurse and have a job on the ED at North Shore very exciting. We don't have much else planned but looking forward to an adventure in NZ!
I am 25 and Jamie is 31, we don't know anyone in NZ and would love to meet up with others there.
Charlie

Hi Charlie,
I'm Phil and we too may be moving to Auckland in the not too distant future.. so would love to hear your experiences of getting organised and planning for your big move. Myself, my wife Sajida and our baby girl Sophia plus our dog Roxy will hopefully be relocating to Auckland area due to a job opportunity I've received. But this has only come about in the last 10 days or so but quick decisions will have to be made once the offer is (officially) on the table and negotiations agreed!
I too am in the medical industry, but I am a medical device specialist - mainly for laparoscopic devices/minimally invasive surgery.
We are at the very beginning of our costing up and getting papers for visa organised.. but we are still very excited at the prospect! Good luck to you guys.. and hope the relocation goes smoothly.
Phil.

Hi Charlie,
my husband and I moved to New Zealand 18 months ago and are now living on the North Shore in Auckland. Rob's 30 and I'm 32. We are loving it here, especially the long sunny days, the barbecues and the beach :-)
Would love to meet up some time once you guys get here. I'll PM you my e-mail address :-)
In the meantime...happy packing and safe journey!
Take care x

Hi Phil
That sounds amazing, do you think you will be moving soon after the offer is on the table then? I will defo keep you updated with our move, even though we are leaving UK in May we haven't really organised much. We are renting our house out here and gonna sell most of our stuff so just coming with our rucksacks and not much else
I'm still awaiting my nurse registration but in the last stage and then can apply for our work visas. Keep us updated with your plans too, hope you get the offer you want!
p.s. our cat is called Roxy too but we are leaving her behind

Hiya Elle,
Thanks for your reply! How are you finding it now after 18m? Would you recommend the North Shore to live? Cause I've been looking up near Torbay or maybe Rodney instead like orewa way.
We would love to meet up, be nice to make some friends. I'll keep in touch by email.

Hi,
Just wanted to say welcome and safe travels.
My partner (29) and I (27) moved to New Zealand about 5 months ago now, we are living in St Heliers and I work at Auckland City Hospital - feel free to give us a shout if you fancy a meet up once your feet hit the ground!
Enjoy NZ!

Hiya Laura,
What do you do at Auckland hospital? Do you know what North Shore hospital is like? I am hoping I can do long shifts there.
Defo up for meeting up when we arrive, it will come round really quickly now! Can't wait
I'll let you know when we arrive,

How exciting for you both! Laura (my partner) is a nurse and works at North Shore Hosp. She works in ED (an extension of it...) we both live very close to the hospital. I know she's much healthier working there than she was back in the NHS! We arrived in NZ in June last year.
Good luck with your move, its a great thing to do.
We'd be up for meeting up as well as in truth.. we haven't made a huge amount of friends, buts its been nice being able to focus on us for a change.

Hey David,
I just saw your post and was thinking...how about meeting up some time for coffee/drinks? My husband and I live on the Shore as well.
Send me an IM and we'll work out something
Take care
