Red face Appartment Living

Hi
We're moving to Auckland in December. We were thinking of renting a house in one of the nice burbs, but after looking at the apartments we quite fancy one of those instead.
We're late 20's married with no kids and think some of the high rise appts look appealing. Especially the ones with nice views and gyms/pool use.

Has anyone rented appts there and if so what are they like.
We were worried about noise from neighbours and sizes, cus some look really small.

Any replies grateful!

We rented but not right in the city. Some of the apartments right in the heart of the CBD are more geared to students. Look at units/ apartments in some of the suburbs just outside the city, Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Mount Eden, Grafton, Parnell. These are all around 5 kms or less from the CBD, an d well served by bus routes. Parking is also a problem in the CBD, you will probably want a car.

We rented in Grey Lynn/ Ponsonby when we first arrived in Auckland, i think it was around $300 or $350 a week for a 1 bed unit in a complex with a pool and gym.
