Anyone paid University education fees?
Hi all, well my latest nightmare...looked up the fees for Otago Uni and according to them if person/student is on a student visa then International fees apply. So that would be $22k each year instead of $5k. We are here on a Business Visa, (OH),I have work visa off the back of that and the two kids on student visas. Oldest is due to leave school end of this year.
So not only am I unable to have her go to Uni, but now I'm terrified what might happen if she is no longer a student here at school.
HELP!!!

As far as I am aware you need PR to pay university domestic fees. Not helpful to you

Not unless you have PR as I understand it. Ie permanent residency

Re: Anyone paid University education fees?
Your daughter needs NZ residency to be eligible for domestic uni fees. Student visa only really applies to school years. If you gain residency under the SMC category then yes, your daughter becomes eligible for domestic uni student fees. For you that means a full time perm teaching position.
Are you on course with your LTBV ? How long left?

Sorry Fi. I have been a bad friend and forgotten that you asked about this.

LTBV is ok,but a pain in the arse as above shows. Also the boy child wants to join the NZ forces and can't do that without residency. I love where I teach now but as it's only long term reliever I may have to sacrifice it and find a job that's permanent, and possibly a bigger commute
