Cost of living, yep certain things are cheaper such as Jap import cars, petrol/ diesel, good meat, housing. Some things are not that much different to UK, eg utilities, other food.

Most New Zealanders don't know what it is like to live in New Zealand , because most of them left the place years ago and live in Australia.
Its a place where the men are men and the sheep are nervous.
The Prime Minister is some far-left lesbian feminist woman that has sent the country bankrupt and weather is cold and the beaches crap compared to OZ.

Can't remember the last time a New Zealander got bitten by a poisionous snake! Could be right about the prime minister tho, however the economy is good and strong here.

Re: anyone from new zealand
Took us 7 months to get here after deciding to emigrate.
What line of work are you looking into? Why the 3 year wait?
Holiday entitlement !!! now thats a laugh, three weeks is the norm, going up to 4 weeks in I think 2006. Depending on your line of work you could try negotiating more.
As for our Helen.....I'm sure she could do with an Anne Widdecombe make over !!!!, auburn highlights, eyebrows trimmed and shaped and lipstick that enhances rather than makes her narrow lips even narrower. A challenge for the best of make over shows.
