Anyone in any doubt about leaving the UK / returning to the UK - read this
After many weeks of people arguing over where is best etc etc, & people saying that they can't believe the UK is so bad etc etc, i read something interesting today.
According to government statistics a complaint is made by the public of the UK to the police regarding anti social behaviour, 66000 times a day. No i haven't typed that wrong, 66000 compaints per day regarding anti social behaviour. The same report said it was equivalent to 3 every 4 seconds, & to 24 million complaints per year.
That is absolutely unbelievable. The worst thing is, do you know how many anti social behaviour orders (asbo's) have been issued since 1999 (when records began), well if you consider 24 million per year multiplied by 5 years is 120 million complaints, does the fact that a mere 2500 asbo's have been issued scare you.
It should.
Bring on June 16th when we leave this 'sacred isle' for good.

hey i didn't make the statistics up, in fact, if the government has issued them, you can be sure they're actually lowered & the true figure is higher !!!

I agree this country has gone to the dogs but I imagine NZ has a chav-underclass too! They are everywhere and they are allowed to breed and migrate too! :scared: Now where did I leave my napalm?

there is an underclass, (lived there for all of 2003), but i bet that even when accounting for the population in nz, the figures in the uk are probably thousnads of times higher.

Yes mate you are spot on anti social behaviour is a major problem in some parts of the Uk, mostly inner city from my experience... my background is a Housing Officer for a Social Landlord. Every day we get tales and complaints of loud noise, grafitti and drug dealing and thats what keeps me in a job. The introduction of ASBOs hasnt came soon enough and we have our first eviction on Monday due to grounds of anti social. Some folk say blame the parents for dragging their kids up rather than raising, who knows. All I do know is that come next weekend this girls poor neighbours will have peace and quiet.
So no arguments from me. My level of anti social where I live is the bloody church bells ringing on a Sunday morning, bloody inconsiderate church goers lol

I really dont think that posting this is of any use to the forum at all. You complain bitterly all the time that people are being negative and there you go posting negative posts like this trying to scare those going home for whatever reason. There is no need for this. If I am not allowed to have MY OPINION about NZ then you should not be allowed to post this type of post about the UK.
Really, just leave it alone. People have been mostly cheerful and positive this week and there is no need for you to start the slagging again. If you take offence at negative postings about NZ, then I can equally take offence at you being negative about the UK. ALso this belongs in the UK forum, not here. The big difference is that I am aware that there are problems in the UK. So is everyone else. We have said this a million times, what gets our goat is when people like to pretend that there are NO problems in NZ.

hi enilorac,
i dont have a pc at home, i'm just a work day skiver !!!!
we came back to the uk for a couple of reasons really. We'd gone to nz on a whv & this was due to run out, depsite having good jobs & prob being able to extend a work visa or something, we had a couple of student loans, & a couple of uk credit cards to pay off. Being the conciencous (spell?), soul i am, we decided to pay them off, we'd tried in nz, but sending home £300 or whatever was bloody hard work, so we decided to come home, get rid of these debts & be allowed to return to nz free of any constraints, in addition the flight tickets were due to run out, so we thought we'd come back, do things proper & go back.
We've since paid of all our debts, reapplied for pr, & are going back June 16th.......

Hi Paul,
Interesting post, my EOI is due to go out today and for any number of reasons we’ll be happily gone.
Went into town on Sunday for a quite beer or two and a meal, on the way in three lads were “escorted from the premises” by the old belt and shoulder technique (not as in vogue as it used to be).
We had the meal, zigzagged back to the bus stop to be greeted by sirens. The same lead fellow with an interesting turn of the vernacular was now dressed only in his undies having a brawl with the same bouncers from two hours earlier.
I guess it takes all sorts.
Cheers,
Neil
