For any CC'ites who are missing any stuff from home, feel free to stick requests up on here and I'll see if we can bring them over in our suitcases.

Stuff like your favourite choccy, a certain type of make-up (my missus is busily stocking up on her favoutrites, 'just in case'. I dread to see the credit card bill ) a magazine, marmite (though god knows why anyone would want that ) or similar. Will happily bring to the CC meet being organised in the sticky thread as we'll be there too.

I doubt I'd be able to get the Essex favourite of Jellied Eels past customs though Tried some for the first time yesterday at the Leigh-on-Sea cockle sheds. They are as unremarkable as they look! Weird lot them east-enders.

Anyway, hope this offer is of use to someone.

Just transferred out our life savings from £'s to $'s. Bloody scary, as $ is gaining strength and just figured needed to do it asap. 1 week, 2 days and counting - eek! :scared:

Toni does ask though, can you get Benefit make-up in CC? Her fave, see.

Nah its not that bad, we're just having a laugh!...oh, and we're mental as well!

I stocked up on clothes for my son before leaving UK.... just using the last of the stuff now, 18 months later.

No idea about the make-up. Have worn make-up about 4 or 5 times in the last 18 months.... just got out the habit.

I was lucky, I sold my house the other month and got 3 dollars to my pound! Timed that just right.

Make up is mega expensive here so bring as much as you can with you!!!!
I bought a liquid eyeliner the other day and it was $22 which if you convert to pounds doesn't seem so painful but just remember you won't be earning pounds once you get here!

I've turned into Waynetta Slob since being here.... would only put make-up on if we went out and dont go out very often!

My hubby has not been a good boy though has he and Im feeling very insecure at the mo .... have lost stones with stress which is not too bad I suppose but would have rather had the option and gone to weight watchers or something

Oooh thanks for the tip! I use Avon make-up and have looked but they don't have the choice there so I'm stocking up ... if it's cheaper here, then I'm def going to be bringing loads out with me !!!
