hi,
I have lodged my application in the month of sep 10th and received a acknowledgement from immigration dept delhi that a case officer will be alloted in approxiamtely 6 months. what does it mean? if it takes 6 months for alloting a case officer means , then how long it will take to process other document verification ? any one has been in the same situation ? pls tell me how long it will take to allot a case officer? also i want to move to NZ soon. if it takes more than 6 month, then is there any way to speed up my PR application ? or shall i visit NZ in visit visa and get job offer as I am an IT Professional with 6+ yrs exp in Microsoft Technologies. pls any one give me suggestions .

That sounds like your best option. Other people on this forum have visited on a visitor's permit, been offered work and then changed to a work permit/PR.

There seem to be plenty of jobs advertised out here for IT, from what I've seen, so it might not be that hard to find work. There are several NZ job-hunting websites, perhaps you could line something up via them.

Having said that, I knew a few Indian guys working in IT in Japan who were making a serious amount of money. Instead of wasting 6 months waiting for a case officer you could spend the time learning Japanese!
