Default Any ODP's/ODA's out there?

We are new to this forum so first of all hi to everyone,

We are planning on leaving the UK in Feb 07, wondered if anyone out there is an ODP/ODA who could give us an idea of the expected salary including unsociable hours. We have already been told that the basic would be $45,000. However, this still seems quite low for a family of four to live on. Our contact in NZ thought that another $7,000 or $8,000 could be earned inc unsociable hours. Does anyone know if this is realistic? could we actually earn more?

We are looking to settle in Christchurch and will have to rent a house for a while until we find an area we would like to settle in. After the rental period we are hoping not to have a mortgage.

If the yearly salary is approx $50,000, do you think this is enough for a family of four to live on without having to watch every penny.

Hope someone can help

Hi there and welcome
we were advised, and found to be accurate that you will probably need to aim for $4000 net per month - which is about $72k per annum - and we are a family of 4, however many people manage on less than that - careful budgeting though!!
re: mortgage free in chch - you need to be bringing between $300 - $400k to get something decent in a reasonable to nice area.
