After some serious string-pulling...
I have my work permit! My company, an accredited employer, gave the NZIS quite a beating to get my work permit after I'd waited the requisite two weeks. NZIS had told me it could take another 60 days!
So we're all set now... munchkin is in school already (they're nice and flexible here!) and I'm at least completely settled in. Now all we need is our furniture!
I'm at a wireless hotspot right now in Porirua enjoying a lovely decaf flat white and bought a mobile broadband datacard from Telecom this morning so our account should be up and running on that in a couple of hours.
Weather is a tad cooler than spring usually is, I'm told but we don't use much heat in the house at all. Single glazing and all...
I start work on Monday - cannot WAIT!

Heh heh... try "at all". The answer would still be a resounding "NO!".
Thanks happy and everyone else. I've been off work for five months now, honestly I really am itching to start up again!

Thank you everyone. Well I'm certainly not going to lose any weight today. After a sumptuous butter chicken curry courtesy of hubby and Wattie's I am having a few Belgian choccies and some New Zealand methode champenoise sparkling wine. *hic!*

Great news Maz!!
We finally got our son's Student Visa today so its off to school tomorrow to get the enrolment stuff done.
I think he is looking forward to it - he has been out of school since 23rd July and could do with some structure back in his life.
I am certainly going to miss not having him around but the list of all things I can do by myself is growing rapidly!!
