It is safe.
It is not wealthy (though there isn’t a large income gap between classes generally), think of it as the Poland of the south Pacific.
The crime rate will be lower, especially outside of Auckland.
NZ is a good bet if you have or want children, otherwise consider Australia as well (Purely for economics and climate).
Many South Africans live here (and a wide variety of Asian & Polynesian & European peoples).
I’m not sure what the future holds for New Zealand, we have an ambitious government but the majority of citizens don’t seem ready to allow them to make the decisions that need to be made. Boy if there were ever some tough decisions to be made now is the time.
