Wife joining me in UK - getting passport certified?
Hi all
First time poster. Hope someone can help me out.
I worked out in Russia for 3 years, met my wife, and now she's applying to settle with me here in the UK. I'm British.
Her application ambiguously says:
"[you should supply] evidence that your sponsor is settled in the UK. (This can be a copy of their passport or registration certificate that has been confirmed as a true copy, in other words 'certified')"
I found this post on the subject so at least it seems it's possible to certify your passport (I'd previously never heard of this).
Can anyone tell me if this is necessary? I would have thought that, in order to prove I'm settled in the UK (a passport doesn't prove that - so why??) a clump of household bills, a letter from work and a copy of the tenancy agreement would easily suffice, no?
Thanks in advance
