it's good to make the decision whatever it may be, it releases you from a lot of pressure and you can start to enjoy your days again
i'm glad you're there and thinking positively
i guess it's natural to have the occasional doubt too, i know my OH does even though we're primarily returning for her happiness

Perth to me is very very nice...but, why is it that so many of us on here just want to go home. More than those in Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane.

What is so wrong with Perth? i just can't put my finger on it:unsure:

I think there are lots of reasons in somes ways. he isolation from other states, the cost of visiting other parts of this state and the others. W.A seem to like the natural way which is great but it would be nice if we had a choice...we have the largest coastline and a resort or two along that coast would be brill. It cost me more to go to Broome than Singapore.......After a few years in Perth if you are like us you have "been and done it" that many times it just does not inspire you to go and "visit" again......and in a way it does come down to money...it does not make you happy it does help though...your fed up.....go away for a weekend/week but then it cost's more to do that than ever nowadays.....we pay more for concert tickets etc than Eastern States....we do not have the "groups" coming here as they do to the Eastern States, even Robbie Williams say's he will only go over East if he is to tour again. We do get more people touring but a lot of "has beens" as well....some are just grateful for that but we should not settle for it because we have no other choice....fishing is brill if you like it...camping is to if you like it but we prefer hotels/resorts etc for holidays and that is our choice though...we do not have a great deal to choose from....we have been lucky and travelled to most states and they are lovely but again...a lot of people move from those states back to their homelands for whatever reason.

I think you are either happy in your own back garden here in Perth or you like to get out and about..we are the latter and it gets harder the longer you have lived here.....

We did think of going to Queensland a few years ago but then again we would still not be near our family, Europe is still not on our doorstep and although there is more culture over in Queensland it was not the older kind we enjoy...Castles, Stately homes, etc.....(now I know I am getting old) each to their own...and you have to try if you think you should. We did not and we don't regret it....

Why do so many of us leave Perth?
I often wondered the same thing, why would anyone leave Perth?
Big house, large pool, new car, good job, nice weather, lots of friends, it sounds like paradise.

Well you learn something new everyday don't you. Now you know the things you hear are not always true.

I live in Perth and other than the weather and friends I don't have any of those things. Get real.

Its because people cant adjust and settle down.

People feel let down and then reject the situation, and become so opioniated about it all, they pack up and leave.

Simplae as tht, but unfor, Perth settlers do appear more volatile about the area, and its a shame this happens as it plants the seed for any future settlers.
