Where would you rather have surgery?
Assuming you had the choice...and quality of treatment was more important than cost... would you rather have surgery in the UK or in Australia?
Would you choose Aus private over UK nhs... Aus private over UK private... or Aus public over UK nhs... or vice versa?
All answers and reasons very welcome please...

I'd rather not have surgery anywhere!!!!!
On balance I think UK though if I had to. I like the way there are time limits so that they are obliged to perform the op within x weeks, days or months depending on the complaint rather than languishing on some never ending waiting list.
If I were working I would definitely have private health in both places but my observation of the NHS and my elderly relatives experience with it gives me huge confidence in it compared with the Aus offerings.
