Well, after 7 months of waiting and 14 hours travelling, we've finally arrived in the US! Transit through immigration at Sea-Tac was painless, although the guys doing the processing seemed to be bewildered by the computer system! As everybody said, they didn't look at the x-ray once (was pretty pissed since the damed thing took up so much room in my hand luggage!)
Just got to get over this jet-lag (it's now 4.50am!) and i'll be a functioning US Permanent Resident!

Nice one Dave!
Now you're a bona fide expat!
Unlike myself, of course (yet).
Jetlag's easy to get over going West, just stay in bed a couple of extra hours for a couple of days.

Have you flown to the West Coast from UK? I've found it fairly easy when stopping in New York for a few days. The extra three time zones make it not so easy in my experience. I've found that 8-10 time zone difference is never easy -- either way.

I don't doubt you are correct.
Most I have ever gone West in one chunk is 6 hours, I believe.

Welcome to America!
and Welcome Home, to the Missus.
I forget to plug my favorite travel remedy: No Jet Lag homeopathic tablets. It really works for those long hauls!
