All the best Tracey
We have already tried 3 places in Aus. Whilst there are bots of it and little things i like overall, it just isnt for us. You know deep down in your heart when something isnt right even if you spend a lot of time and effort trying to convince yourself otherwise.
One thing this experience has taught me. Trust my gut instinct a lot more than i have done in the past!! In future, unless something feels "Right" deep down, i wont be going there or doing it!!
This will be good for me. When i am once again in a position to have my own home, i wont be moving into anyhting unless it has the wow factor and ticks most of my boxes even if it means waiting a bit longer because once i am in my own home i NEVER EVER intend to move again unless i can help it. I am soooo over being a gypsy. I have moved 7 times in 8yrs!
I think the travel bug is well and truly out of my system
Best wishes to you all

Ah well - good luck back in Devon - if we ever had to return, it's an area I'd seriously consider moving to as well. Lovely part of the world.

to be honest TraceyW
you have done the right thing. you came, you saw, and you knew it might make or break you.
you know whats right for you (and the family), and thats important!
a lot come out here without looking first and cant find a way back without crippling them.
no one can fault you for that.
well done lassie

I had that too Soapy, that's why I came. I stayed because I don't like to be defeated, I hate giving in once I start something, but being that way can work against you, so I would never tell anyone to stick it out if their heart is somewhere else. Being here as long as we have has certainly done me no favours and I have many regrets, which in itself is very sad. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

well, its true.
we have been chattin and reading your posts on here for years. i know how much you wanted this to work.
so it takes a lot to turn it down.
its a shame more dont put as much thought into the big move as you guys have
its great to see a post like this...... "Oz was fab, but its just not for us".
a lot of people take the easy way out and slate the place, so thank you for telling us all how it is!

Hi Tracey
Just read your reccie update.
Well at least you came over this side & saw it, you wont have the 'what ifs' on your return & have seen another area apart from WA. Laid that to rest. Am so glad you said you felt at peace over this way.
Laughed you went to the Crystal Castle
Since you were here its all gone brown due to no water & frosts, so hope it was green when you were here.
All you lot going on about how tops Byronshire is - dont .... its where I am and am leaving. I'm off soonish, feel quite sad too about it too Tracey in ways. I'll miss this little area. I'm taking piccies of round n about and keep having to remind myself why I'm leaving. Keep thinking of that Abba song - knowing me, Knowing you.
Like you Tracey I'm Devon bound, good luck with it all.
Just think of all those lovely walks & lanes and green green fields of home
xx

You know in your heart you have to go home, although it may hurt like hell to leave such a lovely place. Always remember though that you can return whenever you feel like it (I take it you've got the cert) that way it never feels like a final goodbye, move like an au revoir kinda thing.

Oh believe me mate, some days, on a really really bad homesick day, I could slag this place off with the rest or 'em but there's no point. It's not Australia's fault that I don't like it here is it? She can't help being backwards, parochial, racist, a bit thick....ooops, sorry, said I wouldn't do that!!!!!!
