There are probably people on this forum who have already been through the process and had their SSA benefit recalculated for WEP. If so, I have questions related to the verification of ID. I got the email in February that said I might be due increased benefits because of WEP (I think I am) but the SSA needs me to "Sign in to your personal my Social Security account at www.ssa.gov/myaccount/ to verify or update your mailing address and direct deposit information." I have signed in and verified to myself that they do have my correct address and payment information (they've been paying me for a while now) but my question is do I need to confirm with the SSA that my info is correct? If so, how do I do that - the web page tells me that I cannot make changes to address and phone number online and there's no obvious way to verify information. Do I need to call them?

This is exactly the process my wife went through recently. All she did was log on, check that they have her correct address and that was all. The bank details are obviously okay since she receives her monthly payment with no issues. She didn’t contact them at all. She logged on a week or two later and saw that her payment had been increased starting in April. Since then she has received back payments as 2 lump sums.
