US to UK relocation/ moving companies
I have done a search, but keep coming up with OZ relocation threads.
Can anyone recommend any USA to UK relocation/ moving companies? We are looking at going back in 6 weeks, so need to get a hustle on!
Thanks muchly!

Moving Scams Blacklist of Removal Companies:

In our town there are quite a few people moving in and out on expat assignments and I've seen huge lorries for Wheaton Worldwide Removals. (I think that Dunroving has used them, he certainly has recommended them on the boards). They are now partners with Crown Worldwide who are major players on the expat scene, otherwise I would have recommended that you also got an estimate from them! The weird thing is that they don't give estimates based on volume - they do it by weight, goodness knows how they do this?!

Another well known intenrational removal company is Allied Van Lines:

Hope this helps!

Crown did us proud - said we were going to self ship halfway through negotiations and got it a little cheaper!!!
Customer service was superb - they sent a van to meet us on the way to the airport (by bus) to collect a couple of items that were left behind an open door!!!

Re: US to UK relocation/ moving companies
We used Allied, and dealt with their Phoenix office. I was really impressed, they did it on short notice and the two guys that came out to do the packing were so quick and hard working. They did all of the packing in our garage, which isn't air conditioned, and it was 105F and humid. They never stopped.
Just received email from the English agents that our stuff is due to arrive in Felixstowe tomorrow. Sadly, it will have to go into storage until we have a place of our own. But, I've found somewhere close to here that'll store for half the price the English agents were quoting. Getting our stuff back, even if it's in a storage place a couple of miles down the road, feels like another piece of the puzzle falling into place.

Re: US to UK relocation/ moving companies
We recently used Navis Pack and Ship to handle arrangements NC USA to UK. www.gonavis.com
We self packed 27 boxes (they offer packing too), they collected from our house, stacked onto 2 pallets and shrink wrapped. They arranged trucking to Charleston, where our pallets were put into a shared container and loaded on ship.
In UK we received prediction emails of estimated arrivals date, emails of arrival, unloading, customs progress and clearance and were allowed a week of free holding waiting to be picked up, after which they charged storage.
Our stuff had to go into storage until our house ready, we used www.4secureselfstorage.co.uk to store locally 70 pounds / month for their smallest indoor unit and used their partner Simon Long Removals to pick from the shipping agent and bring to storage.
On unpacking all our stuff was in same condition as when we packed it.
