Default US Tax Refund

Hey all

I was wondering if anyone has moved back from the US to the UK and applied for an income tax refund? Where you eligible? Did you get it?

I have been in the US since the end of September moving back in June and so I just cross the resident requirement for days. I am not sure if we should expect anything back or if the tax is the US's now

Thanks,

Tom

Default Re: US Tax Refund

I get a refund on my US taxes every year including the first year I moved back in May 2016. Depends on your specifics of course but don’t assume the taxes you have paid to the US are all theirs.
