i'm an undergrdute holding an australian qualification
now that i am applying through ucas
my first choice is business management
as both university of exetor and cadiff have a very good reputation in business
under the following situation which one would you recommend?
exetor offers me a diploma
- promote to year 2, same length of time as starting from year 1
- get small sized class with more focus, but will lose the learning evironment of how year 1 students enjoy
- not very much choices when promote to year 2
cardiff offers me direct admission to year 1
- based on ranking, its position not as high as exetors
- if earning a professional qualification like accounting exetor is definitely more well-known as its accounting programme ranks the first in the uk
please give me some suggestion thanks heaps!!

Is the Exeter offer at the Streatham (Exeter city) campus, or the Cornwall (Falmouth) campus?
If at Streatham, I would go for this over Cardiff. Exeter is the better uni.
However, if at Falmouth, I would go for Cardiff, as it is a fantastic city, with lots to do. Unless you like a quiet life I would say Falmouth is very small and a long way from anywhere

RE killerhales
yes INTO exeter will be at the city campus so its all good
and to everyone
does that matter if i do diploma instead of year 1 in the first year?
does the business industry really care abt it?

According to Uni Rankings, Exeter is 14 and Cardiff is 32 for Business and Management Studies.

I expect the Business industry will care more about your final grade, work/voluntary experience and attitude more than whether you did a diploma instead of year one at Uni.

Employers will be mainly concerned with your final qualification, so if the qualification you end up with is the same at both unis then I don't think it matters whether you do the "INTO" route at Exeter, or the direct route at Cardiff.
The other factor to think about is that in the "INTO" environment you will be with other international students in the first year, and in Cardiff you will be in the usual first year mix of UK and international students.
This may or may not have a bearing on your decision.
I was looking at INTO as a possible option for my daughter, but she aced her exams and so didn't need it in the end, but the prospectus was very impressive and Streatham is a great campus.
It's great that you have two options which are both pretty good, I think. What about other factors, like accomodation? Do both unis have an accomodation guarentee for first years?
