Have you come across this anomaly before?
Correct IRS deadline for payments is April 15 whether you intend to file in April, June or request an additional extension to October. So you'd want to get a reasonable estimate of taxes due so you can pay in April in order to not risk penalties/interest.

I think you don’t have to pay until until June 15, but am not certain. I’ve certainly never had to pay a penalty but I usually am getting a refund. The IRS website says you don’t have to pay before June 15.

You are allowed an automatic 2-month extension to file your return and pay federal income tax if you are a U.S. citizen or resident alien

If you file for an extension beyond June 15 then you you definitely have to be paid up on your taxes.

Thanks for the clarification - I'll check to see if the same deadlines apply to Non Resident aliens.
