Hello, I have question. I am a British citizen, but I moved out of the UK during the pandemic and was in Zimbabwe for 2 years from 2019 to 2021, during my stay there I took a Zimbabwean Driving licence.
Now that I have returned to the UK am I able to swap this for a UK Driving licence.
Please note I also have a UK Provisional licence which I took some 5years ago.
Thank you for you help.

Pick Form D1 from the Post Office. Complete the foreign licence exchange but crucially add your existing GB licence number. This way you’ll be given back your full GB licence and your Zimbabwean licence will be retained.

Question for anybody that has done this. It states that you need to send your license back with the form and the new license will arrive after 6 weeks.
Can you drive in the UK whilst not physically having the license? Do you need to stop driving during this 6 week waiting period?

No such requirement in the UK. Worst case scenario and you get pulled over you may be asked to ‘present’ at a later date at a police station but it’s very unlikely to happen unless you’re involved in an accident.
