Well my personal experience was all of the above, no driving license, no bank account and for quite a while I did not have health insurance (my wife's company had a policy change which allowed me to be insured as a domestic partner). It was very hard and I really had no rights at all, living pretty much invisible as a home hubby, doing the house work and collecting kids etc.
It has all happened so fast once we finally married, it still has not sunk in that I am now a PR. My fun for last week was being asked for the first time for ID for my visa card (debit card with our bank account, not a proper credit card) and I was able to pull out my CA driving license, ohh the little things in life
