Default Trying it for a year

Anyone thought about returning to the UK, been undecided and just tried it for a year? Me and my DH are thinking about doing this if he can find a job first. Just seems like a lot of effort for such a short time but could save a lot of money and effort in the long term if we can't settle (5 kids in tow).

I would be really interested to hear from anyone who has ping ponged between two countries. This is already my second stay in Norway. I knew someone many years ago who used to spend 7 years in the UK then 7 years in Australia, and then 7 years in the UK..... Never understood it back then

The "trying it for a year " thing is on our agenda... in a few years. I would go now, but family needs come first. Have been back for holidays over the years, but haven't had any quality time to live the UK way for a long time. Probably something to get out of my system, though can't imagine being content in the outer Brisburbs forever. I consider a year trial period to be the bare minimum to get a feel for a place... but the quandry will be if some of the family love it and some don't.
