Default Tourist Visa funds

Hi

My brother is going to be applying for a tourist Visa to visit me for about 10 days. I was wondering how much money and how many months' bank statements does he need to show.

Also is it worth me writing a letter that I will be supporting his expenses fully while he is here which is actually true. He will be staying in my rented two bedroom flat where me and my Mrs stay. If yes then what does he need from me documents wise?

Thanks

Where is he coming from and what passport does he hold? Has he visited the UK before?

He holds an Indian passport and will be visiting from India.
Yes he has visited before but like 15 years ago.

If he’s staying with you then the ECO is going to be less concerned about funds and more interested in his ties to India and the likelihood of him returning there after his visit is done.

He has a permanent job and two properties that he owns back home. I have asked him to submit evidence of these when he applies but I thought you still have to show bank statements ?

He does but evidence of those ties are equally, if not more, important.

so question still remains, how much money should he show in his bank statements for a 10 days trip.

I read somewhere that for schengen visa they advise abut £50-60 per day but for UK there doesn't seem to be any specific number mentioned.

A more pertinent question is how much does he have as he can’t show money he doesn’t possess.

He said he can easily show about £2-£3k. surely that's enough?
