Tax Residency (or accountant recommendation)
We have lived in USA from April 2006. Returned to UK on January 26 to take up employment on February 6, 2018. I will be completing all US tax forms for 2017. Trying to figure out if I'm UK resident for UK tax year to April 2018. It all seems complicated so any recommendations on tax accountants appreciated. Thanks

This is the accountant that I have been using for the last few years to handle my UK & Canadian tax returns etc. I have been very pleased with his service and he also does US taxes.

Re: Tax Residency (or accountant recommendation)
Have you read this: https://www.gov.uk/tax-foreign-income/residence
my quick read suggests you were not UK resident for all of the 2017/2018 tax year. Instead, you have a split year situation, which means non resident for part of the year, and resident for part of the year (commencing when you moved back).

Thank you. I did read that document prior to posting and that was my understanding also.
