Newbie here, hello all.
I’m in the process of moving back to the UK, nearly there, a couple of weeks!
We have a complicated situation where I am moving back with my children but my husband will be staying in Switzerland. He is a Swiss citizen and is self employed here and doesn’t want to live in the UK!
He will be sending me money monthly for household expenses, my question is with regards to that money: it is his income, he pays tax on it, same as here really. But how will it be considered in the UK for tax purposes? In my view it is not an income and I should not have to declare it such, especially as tax has already been paid on it, but on another thread some seem to disagree and say it’s unearned income? For others it’s maintenances but some say no as maintenance is only in the case of separation/divorce?
If anyone has experience of this and can help I’d be very grateful.

It is a remittance to support his family. It is not taxable in the UK.
