Default Taking stuff back

Does anyone know about taking vehicles back to the UK? Is import duty charged? Also, what have people been quoted for a full container? We'd probably pack ourselves. Any help appreciated.

Cars are tax/ duty free as long as you have owned them for at least 12 months. They do however need a special inspection to ensure that they meet British standards, and may need some modifications. For example, common modification required is the installation of indicators on the front fenders, just above the wheels, which have been standard in the UK since the 1980s but are not typically installed in cars in the US, and weren't standard even in Germany until several years later than in the UK.
