Default Taking a car back

Has anyone taken a car back to the U.K from Australia we are thinking of going back home for a year or 2 and would be interested if anyone has any info on taking one back I know the cost of shipping etc and that you have to have it approved to regulations in the U.K but my main concern is do you have to pay VAT it is an Audi less than a year old so if we sell it prior to going we will loss money on it as the market is pretty stagnant at the moment

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Go to uk customs and search for importing motor vehicles. We were going to take a car back but it was going to cost a fortune to do it. Cant remember the exact figures now. We only owned the car for 4 months. U have duty and tax to pay on it. I think you get off with the duty if you have owned the car for longer than 1 year.
