I work for a Building Society in UK, and unfortunetly although this could be a mistake, the fact that 2 different companies have his address could mean the start of a scam being processed, and definitely recommend that you/ your grandad puts a note on his experian file , with a password so that if anyone applies or credit in his name/ address the pass word has got to be given. You could do this on his behalf on their website if he is not Internet savvy.

Maybe check with land registry to find out who's name is on the title deed. Hopefully he has not signed anything recently not knowing what he was signing.

It's about time we moved into getting biometrics for claimants and DNA for any children they say are theirs; although there are proposals in the pipeline of limiting the number of children per claim and giving benefits on a benefit card, instead of cash to the claimant. The benefit card will have restricitons on what claimants buy and where the can use it.
I so agree with all that you say!!

That would be an appalling thing to do, and the damage caused would outweigh the benefit.

Your view only. There are too many welfare cheats in this world and if you were a genuine welfare recipient having biometric data to identify you and your dependents and having vouchers to spend in supermarkets etc would not worry you.
