Looking for advice on shipping our house from Australia to the UK. We moved to the UK 3 years ago and were in rented accomodation as weren’t sure how long we’d stay. We’ve since bought a house and want to now ship our stuff over that’s been in storage. Because more than 12 months have passed we can’t get TOR exemption. I spoke to HMRC and it doesn’t look like it will be that expensive as the items are 10+ years old and so have little value - they said I can use comparable items on sale on gumtree to come up with a value which I’ve done. However, our storage company doesn’t want to ship if no TOR. What are our options?!
