We are moving back to the UK and have just got an offer on the house, so are looking at quotes for a 20ft container from Perth to the UK.

I would be really interested in hearing experiences and costs from people who have done it recently.

I recently shipped back from Hong Kong, a similar distance by sea, a 20ft container door to door was about AUD8,000, but there's a range of quality in the market, so it can cost a lot more, it all depends on your risk factors, e.g. how well are things packed (chandeliers and mirrors in wooden crates?) and the ominous cost of insurance (which I declined)
