Hi, we will be returning to the UK from Nova Scotia (as soon as our house sells)! right now I'm doing all of the groundwork in order to be ready to go as soon as everything is finalized. Does anyone have any advice on good/reasonable shipping companies and if they recommend a dedicated container or used shared (groupage). TIA

hi, welcome to BE
using a dedicated or shared container will depend on a couple of things - how much do you have to ship and how quickly do you need it? Groupage is the most cost effective for small amounts of belongings when you can be flexible with timing, but if you're moving your whole household then a dedicated container might be best. You can book a survey with a moving company and ask them to recommend the most cost effective option (or ask for comparison costs) based on your volume and individual requirements.
A great place to start for finding shipping companies is to check out FIDI website for a list of FAIM certified international removal companies that serve your area to make sure whoever you're using is fully qualified, licensed and independently vetted for overseas moving. Depending on your preference you can use a removal company based in the UK or in Canada so you have quite a lot of choice.
There are lots more tips about choosing reputable removals companies and your different options over on our vendor forum for International Removals advice. Hope it helps!
