Shipping

Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted on here in years. I moved back to UK in 2005 and have been here since
I went under the name callé but can't seem to log in now. I have tried to reset my password several times but page goes blank. I can work on that later though. My question is can anyone help me with a shipping problem please? we shipped everything over in a container all those years ago but a grown son of mine followed after and he has about 20 or so boxes that he left behind. Its been a long time in storage and we want to get it shipped over. From Florida to anywhere near us in Cheshire or actually anywhere will do as I'll collect if I have to. I'm having trouble trying to sort this from this side and if anyone can give me the name of a shipping company that would do this I would be so grateful. It would need to be a company that would do bulk at a decent price and that's what i need help with please.. i read long ago that freight ships used to do pallets on book rate? which was reasonable but not sure if they still do or how to find out from this side of the pond. Thank you all so much x Oh BTW, I just noticed it has recognised me know. I'm logged in. YAY!

Hello, Calle! I remember you. I'm not sure whether this will be of any help, but when I moved back (the first time ...) in 2000, I used a US-based company called Wheaton Worldwide. I remember I was very impressed with their efficiency at the time - and they sent my stuff as a part-load, on a pallet like you've described. I just checked and they are still in business ...
[However, I just checked TrustPilot and reviews are not great, so DYOR. There are only 7 reviews and often you only find the disgruntled people posting reviews].

Hi Calle, I just used Schumacher Cargo Logistics for my shipment from Miami. It was picked up at the end of August and is pending sailing as we speak. So far they have been great. I initiated the discussion online and then immediately heard from my designated contact named Daniel who was brilliant. I had 23 items in total including a few pieces of furniture and about 15 boxes of stuff. The box size they based their quote on is 18â€x18â€x19†if that helps. We had a WhatsApp video call to assess the total size of the shipment and because there wasn’t much I opted for a shared container which is much less expensive. The boxes are wrapped and placed on pallets, then your quote is adjusted according to actual space you take up. My quote went down by almost a grand which was a pleasant surprise. www.sclusa.com
