We are planning on moving back to the UK in the summer of 2010 and at that time my daughter will be 6 and my son 3 so will be going to Primary and Infants/Nursery school respectively.

I know I need to register them but have a couple of questions. Firstly, how do I go about doing that? Is there a government (local or otherwise) department or do I contact the school directly?

How far in advance should I do this?

My kids' births weren't registered but I am applying for their UK passports shortly. Will their lack of birth registration cause a problem?
