Default Returning to UK from Canada - No Claims Discount

Hey Friends,

am returning to the Uk from Canada where I have a letter for 4 years NCD from cooperators insurance, and still have the RIAS letter from before I went for 9 years NCD which was from 2018 and will now be expired.

Wondering which companies are best to start with in terms of getting some quotes. Uk licence back up and running, with a clean history and was an advance driver as ex police.

thanks sam

We went with Aviva. No documentary evidence of no-claims was asked for, they just took our word for it, and their premium was competitive.

Our son went with Aviva in 2017 when he moved back in 2017 and also our daughter in November 2022, they seem to be good at accepting overseas no claims discounts for folks coming from the USA. There may well be more companies willing to accept no-claims from Canada. (When we moved back in 2016 I went through a comparison website and chose one that said it accepted overseas no claims but when I contacted them they gave me a long list of countries which didn't include the USA).
