Default Relocation housing help - Norwich

We are moving to Norwich area in February and bringing our two cats from NZ. Because we have the cats this means we need to secure somewhere to live before we arrive as hotels etc. won’t take them. Any ideas? Estate agents don’t respond, thought maybe there are companies that help with this kind of thing but I can only find corporate relocations.

Estate agents won’t be responding because it’s so far away, finding a rental 4 months in advance isn’t likely and things are renting very quickly.

You may find hotels will take them, some will take cats as well as dogs. If not, then Air BnB is probably your best bet, you can filter by ones that allow pets.

Good luck.

As said, Air BnB or other vacation rentals.

It's not only the cats which require you to have accommodation before you arrive. In order to obtain a visa (which you need I understand) you need longer term accommodation, and short term hotel stays are not usually acceptable.

Thanks!!

Yes indeed I do need a visa hence why we are so keen to get accommodation sorted. We could put my father-in-laws address but he is in London (we want to settle in Norwich) and also don’t really want to take cats there.

I did see an option to pick on the form if you didn’t have an address confirmed at the time of applying but from your comment I imagine they prefer that we’ve locked something in.

As far as i understand , for immigration purposes, it is not preferable for you to have accommodation sorted, it is mandatory. The last thing the authorities want are people turning up and having no-where to live

go to Norwich.
book a air bnb or go on room share and rent a room for a couple months to get stuff sorted.
put your cats in kennels for few weeks or a month.
rent a house and sorted.

Whether or not it is of any use, there is a parallel discussion about a possible move to Norwich and a cat in the Pics From Home thread:

Maybe we should all start a cat boarding business in Norwich.

I hadn't even considered the idea of home-made sausages.

You need to take two aspirin and lie down, I think you have a conglomerate coming on.
