Can anyone offer some light on the following points of the application please?

1. Section 5.8 'Please give details of additional jobs or occupations you have'

We wrote down my wife's main job in section 5.2, however, she does have an additional (less frequent) job too. I am wondering if we should write that or not? If we write it, it could either a. show her as a person with more job opportunities, or b. show her as a person with a separate income. In fact the two jobs are with the same company. I don't want immigration thinking she earns more than we have stated - she doesn't. But if it shows her as a person with more options, surely it's better to write it? I don't know

2. Section 8.6.7 'Do you intend to work in the UK?'

Hopefully yes she will be able to find work, however, we don't really have a clue as to her opportunities or possibilities of finding work. She can of course check the market, however, living in Japan (she is Japanese) no company unless major would offer work to a person living outside the UK - it's too risky for them. The point is, we think it better to answer 'No' simply because we cannot provide any 'details' about what she would do other than, 'I intend to look for work wherever I may find it'! In addition, if we X the No box, doesn't this mean I myself (British citizen) would then be further checked on my savings and income in order to support her? I have less than 500 pounds savings, and we will live with my parents until I find work which I cannot pursue until I arrive in the UK.

If your wife intends on working, including looking for work, in the UK then the answer is yes. If she doesn't intend on working (i.e. not looking at all for work) then the answer is no. Don't understand the difficulty with that one.

As I said, if we answer No, then won't immigration expect me to have more savings in order to support a wife that doesn't work?

So you're now saying that your wife has no intention of looking for work in the UK? Which is it?

Move on to the next thread please. Your tone is antagonistic rather than helpful, not to mention avoiding responding to my concerns.

I asked a question, that is all. I asked that question because in your first post you stated "hopefully yes she will be able to find work", but now you're talking about if the answer is no. I'll repeat what I said in my first post:

If your wife intends on working, including looking for work, in the UK then the answer is yes. If she doesn't intend on working (i.e. not looking at all for work) then the answer is no.

Only you/your wife can answer if she is intending on working in the UK - yes or no. Your concern about providing more savings or whatever if she answers no is irrelevant if she intends on looking for work in the UK.

The best thing to is to answer the question truthfully: if she intends to work say so if not say so if she is not sure say so!!
