Love the personal attacks. I get called a liar, but im the one trolling....how does that work, again?

;-)

for the information of those with less than 2 braincells to rub together, yes, I hold my hands up, fair cop, you've got me banged to right guv'nor, go easy on me, I ain't got much in life, spare me from the poor 'ouse.

I have dual nationality. New Zealand and British. That allows me to live & work in the UK, OZ and NZ.

And yes, i've lived in all 3 countries....so, again I ask, who is telling porkies? Not me.

But thanks for the personal attacks. Guess it brightens up your 'grey' life....<snip>

Did you mean to aim this quote to me or somebody else?

greyling - <<snip>>

He calls me a liar and expects to get away with it? Hmmmm. blatant troll like behaviour. He won't get any comeuppence, that's for sure, as this place is little else than a bunch of bullies getting their rocks off whenever someone has the temerity to offer a different viewpoint. Nuff said.

Sorry if I've missed it, but what were your reasons for moving back TO the UK?

Incidentally, your experience of the UK bears very little resemblance to mine. In my experience this country has a lot going for it, I have lived here for the last 20 years (after time in Oz), including in East London, and whilst it's not utopia, I wouldn't say it's going to the dogs at all (although I agree with your criticisms of the CCTV erosion of civil liberty, though I think most of the western world is heading that way).

So those of you that want to head back here, don't worry, it's not a universal conclusion that this place is f'ked.

Good on you, Louie, you've exercise restraint and refrained from personal attacks. ;) For now...:p

Why move back to the UK? good question. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem revealing that information, but since I feel a bit defensive at the moment (hmmm, wonder why?) I suspect it will be used to bash me over the head with, and I'm not supplying you or any of your buddies with any further ammunition for more personal attacks.

I'm sure my experience of the UK bears little resemblence to many many people.

In the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king.....;)

You found the song to be offensive? and what`s Jeremy Clarkson got to do with a talented bunch of marijuana smoking musicians from Seattle?

Sorry, Not the song, The quote from Coda. I am pretty sure Coda did not mean the song.

The fact that Brown has one eye and the saying "in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king" is purely coincidental. Or is it?

That reminds me, political correctness has gone "mental" in the UK. Or should that be, political correctness has become "intellectually diminished" in the UK ;)

In all the wrong ways.

Recently there was a London bus campaign which declared : "there is no God, so stop worrying, and be happy".

OK, but if there was a bus slogan saying : "there is no Allah, so stop worshipping and take off your face-veil ", the whole country would be in uproar.

Hypocricy at it's finest.

I read an article in the times where one of the journos was bemoaning the fact that at the public school there is no longer any prizes for coming first. Why? Because nobody is allowed to win. There is a prize for every student regardless of the outcome.

Just several more examples of why England is going to the dogs.

I post for a number of reasons, such as reading about others experiences, life in english speaking countries, practicing my own english and to beat the boredom of work etc. Why do you post?

I don`t live in the UK or plan to live in the UK and I didn`t realize that was a prerequisite for being on this forum.

Actually, to quote Coda, she said, "Sorry, I didn't know where else to post a thread about someone who has moved back to the UK and now is making plans to return to OZ. Suggestions?".

I suggested the Oz forum (Barbie, precisely), because she said she was making plans to return to Oz. And because she was mostly trashing everything about the UK (rather than "relating her experiences of life back in the UK" - subtle difference), that also would be probably more suited to the Barbie.

I suppose in terms of the "General Will" and keeping people happy etc the barbie may well be her best option. Never really read much on the barbie so can`t comment but any forum that is highly biased for or against something is not overly productive in general. But then again, getting the right balance in most things is not easy.

For some reason the quoting thing goes wrong sometimes, and quotes the one after (or before) the one you wanted to quote. Causes all kinds of trouble!
