Downtown Seattle is fantastic! Lots of theatres, good restaurants, shopping is great, people are friendly. Where we live is quiet but not too quiet. Not sure I'd like New England either, the winters are a bit too tough brrrrr

I've been through Seattle a couple of times. The thing that impressed me most was the gorgeous scenery. Mt Rainer, Mt St. Helens, the Cascades and plenty of beautiful forrests. Just looking out the newly built observation area at the airport I could see loads of beautiful mountains.

You must really enjoy living there.

Yeah, that's one thing that's quite annoying about English weather, if you plan a BBQ, you have to be able to change your plans at the last minute if it decides to piss it down!

Why would that be?

could be that there is a general understanding that if you can't make it in the USA, you should return home

yeah, there a bit minging...but look around, where I use to live in Belfast, they still have a 2003 saab with 30K on the clock now down to $12K because it's a manual, and in a grey and been sitting...dime a dozen with deals, just getting someone to service them around maine was the real issue *l*

Hehe they are bloody horrible looking - i'd have to get a pretty car too just to convince myself I hadn't gone mad

I'll try the saabs as i've been impressed in the past. I'm a bit of a Japanese car snob though so it'll take me a lot to pull away from them

one thing with saabs though, generally there forward wheel drive, so if you slip off into a ditch with your arse in, you'll need a tow unlike with a rear wheel drive....but on the plus, they do start well in the stupidly cold winters and are very reliable and get good mileage, also pretty cheap to insure..if you can find a Viggen, there quite ugly I guess, but they don't half motor

Yeh made the mistake of buying a RWD sports car as my daily runner in the UK, that wasn't fun in the ice

I really wanna see what the winters are like here. The wife keeps telling me it doesnt matter what I get as they do a good job of clearning the roads so that confuses me too
