The first year John was in England I was all excited telling him about pancake day and he goes "You are kidding, right? Surely the Brits don't have such thing as a pancake day" .. Now he gets even more excited about it than I do! bless..

No, you didn't! Read the thread.

For the rest of you, your pancakes are thin and you put wierd stuff on 'em.

Now that I've said that, will someone tell me how to make them? I want to see what the fuss is about.

Easy peasy!

4 oz plain flour (all purpose in the US)
2 large eggs
pinch salt
10 floz milk/water (7 floz milk, 3 floz water)
1 tbsp melted butter or veg oil.

Mix all up! Just make sure your frying pan is hot to start with so they don't stick. Just put in enough to coat the bottom.

Now have more cravings

tend not to measure, just throw everything in the mixer and switch on, making sure lid is on first

The thin ones that they used to sell on the street in Germany were crepes and on those they put Grand Marnier. Woo Hoo!

Thank you! I'll make them this weekend.
Do you have to butter/oil the pan or is what's in the batter enough?
