Nope its straight from the British Government, dont forget when reading the article after clicking the link ---- also click on the read more link then you get the Mails story which is basically the same ----- just the facts mamm just the facts as the man in dragnet always said!!!
Tirytory
No I didn't see anything religous there at all, you wont find much of that here in England, oh hang on though --- I did notice the first story as you click on the link was written by an American reporter over here, he did mention obamacare, so yes that may be possible

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up
update on moving home after 36 years ,and looking for advice.
I am finally planning on coming home end of june ,but I have decided to put my stuff in storage here for a few months as I am worried about the employment opportunities there .
some have said my education here will be a Comparability issue. so I may be relying only on 25 years plus experience/
(As a child, youth, family social service worker)
If anyone knows where to get a Statement of Comparability re education I would be greatfull for all info .I heard of UK NARIC ?
I am honestly not sure I am making the right decision I'm scared , but I do know I am ready for a big change .

I dont know were I will settle I was raised in Hull Although I dont see myself there long term .do have some family but not much there , my mum is there though.
I lived in Cornwall and the channel islands befor I came to Canada 36 years ago , liked both at the time ,however it will depend on where I can get work without taking to many steps back in salary etc .

Its nice that your Mum is around, maybe it would be nice to be close to her, I would think your type of job is in big demand all over the UK.

I love the South of England but I must admit the North is wonderful too, so many things to see and wonderful countryside, Homes down south are expensive, there is no way I could afford it, certain parts of the north are expensive too.

my concern will my field of work is England will not except my education from canada , plus it was years ago, these days they require a masters: I only have three years of college and one year of university . so prying my 25 plus experience with social service and the school system will be enough.
Heres to a joy filled future for us both !!

Also Im sorry I cant help you with advice on your profession but Im sure someone can on here, just hang on a few days while people log in and see your post,
If you dont mind me asking though how close to Canadian retirement age are you? in other words will it be long before you qualify for your Canadian State pension and the other one too whatever that name is, I know Canada has two State pensions dont they, but maybe not everyone gets both,
I was just wondering cause if you only had a year or two to qualify with your age then maybe it would be sensible to wait until you have that income/pension coming in first and then come home, then finding work would not be such a priority,
Strange you say you have been in Canada for 36 years, as I was in the U.S. for the same time, 36 years before I came home to England four and half years ago,
Take care,
Rodney.

I was in the UK but to be honest I didn't see much TV at all. Only flicked through the DM because it was complimentary in the airport lounge.

Thanks for you replay and support , I am 57 so some time to go yet .Yes two pensions the Quebec pension I can collect at 60 but that is only around $235 and the canadian at 65 will be around $500 if I become a non resident .
I do have a pension from work but thats not great either, I dont have enough years paid in in England only 5 I think so will need to work a few more years there otherwise I am not entitled I believe .
How did you find your transition back to England ? which part are you living in ?
