Well, I've now officially been back for a year. I've posted a lot in this last year, hoping to help people who are still trying to decide what to do, or preparing to make the move, and I think everyone here know that we've been happy, so I won't labour the point too much.
I'll just say that my husband says this last year has been our best ever, and I couldn't disagree. We've crammed so much into the year and had so many fabulous experiences. We rarely watch TV anymore because there's just too much to do. Yes the weather has sucked this winter - so much so that our house move was postponed by a week because of heavy snow - but that's just weather. Spring is here now and we're watching lambs in the fields and daffodils come out.
Tonight 4 of our oldest friends are coming over for dinner and tomorrow we're heading up for a day out in the Lake District, complete with pub lunch and country walk, and I'm basically just feeling like a very lucky person.
I plan to cut down my posting here now as I think I've shared everything I can to be helpful, but I'll keep posting on my blog for anyone who wants to see regular photos of Blighty.
I just posted my "Top 10 Things About Being Back in England" and you can find that here.
I also posted my best advice for potential returnees, which you can find here.
This site was a great help to me when I was planning my move back and I hope I've paid that back a little with the stuff I've been able to share. Now I will wish you all farewell and bon voyage (where applicable!).

Wow, a year already. I'm so glad the move has been such a success for you Sally, I know you put a lot of effort into making it so and I'm just so glad it's all worked out. It will be a shame not to see you posting, I always enjoy your posts and the balance and wisdom they contain. I think the forum will be poorer for your absence.
