Hello, yes, something offshore. I am not resident in UK at the moment...

I think I will alter your thread title to something like possible offshore bank accounts. That might help attract those currently utilising such an account.
edit...looking for a UK based bank with which to open an account whilst you are offshore?

I've had accounts for many years with Lloyds on the Isle of Man. They seem super bureaucratic, but I suppose all banks have to be these days. Whenever I've ever had need of human intervention, they've been surprisingly helpful & friendly.

I've had an account with Barclays offshore for some years. Not had any major problems.

I also used Barclays Wealth International to hold a six figure inheritance I received in 2010 and didn't need while we were living in Canada, I stashed it in pounds there and gradually moved 50% into euros all within the same system. In 2015, after I'd retired, I transferred the whole amount into my HSBC UK and HSBC FR accounts. Barclays was easy to deal with both on the phone and online

Our experience with Barclays IoM was the opposite to yours. Even closing the account was a headache. I have the impression there is no such thing as a "customerfriendly" UK bank. You can do a search on google and find comments to various banks and their service.
