Nostalgic Brit Movies
1st post for me, been here 11 years (split with 1.5 yrs back in Blighty) and now in Nashville. Hate country music, hate western music, miss home but won't be going back. This topic has probably been covered before but...... there are some films and tv shows that I love to watch just to get a taste of the old country....
Hot Fuzz (lived near Wells for 7 years)
Sean of the Dead (obviously)
Goal (1st one only)
Blackadder (the one and only)
Spaced (if you haven't seen this buy it!)
Saving Ned Devine
Lockstock and two smoking barrels
I would appreciate any suggestions for entertainment that lets you travel home without having to buy a plane ride.
Cheers
Andrew

Re: Nostalgic Brit Movies
Just checked on itunes and the only movies I found were Dead Man's Shoes and The Football Factory. Will check Netflicks for the rest. Thanks for the suggestions.

Dont know where you live, but I would also check your PBS stations. We have seen several of those movies and more on one or other of our PBS coming out of seattle or detroit.....
as well they carry tons of the old english comedies - keeping up appearances, father ted, waiting to die, yes prime minster (my personal favourite) and we have just recently finished doc martin.....

If you like things like Spaced I think you'll like The Mighty Boosh - my daughter went though a phase of talking with Vince's accent.

Depending on how old you are, but I remember Radio Caroline therefore Pirate Radio (UK version was called The Boat That Rocked) is a reminder of the good old days before BBC Radio 1

Found Inbetweeners, wife thinks it is too rude (I try to supress the snorts of laughter when she is watching over my shoulder)

Oh, and for another reality check, why did this subject get moved to trailer park, with no pm sent? Not the protocol I expected, and trust me, little was required.
