NHS number
#1
Hello I was born in the Uk and have had an NHS number but I can no longer find it. I tried to find it by tracking on the NHS website but cannot match with the postal code. Is there any other way to locate it? Having dual nationality with Canada and having lived in Canada since 1986 I have not used it in a while
Thanks for any leads

How long ago did you have your NHS number? Sounds like it will have been one of the old style numbers so not relevant now anyway.
Once you permanently return and register with a GP's surgery, they'll be able to give you your new format number.

we left in 1987 and returned 2016. Our old NHS number was useless and they had no record on each of us but it was not a problem, after registering with a local GP we received our new NHS number within days.

Your old format number would have been converted into a new format number but if you haven’t been registered with a GP since 1986 it’s unlikely to be searchable. If you can remember where your last GP surgery was then you can call the local CCG and ask them to look it up.
