I have to say I find all this talk about identity theft very boring, especially from a UK perspective where credit scoring is not the be all and end all.
This quote from an "internet security expert" says it all - what a knobjockey...
"The chat rooms many people use are full of people trading credit card details online in real time at all hours of the day and night."
I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but its hardly widespread I would have thought.

Oh pffft there are plenty of ways of ensuring that your information is safe. A very good friend of mine is in internet security training and wrote a little tri-fold on it. It's very simple if you take note. Even if your information is with a 3rd party.

the security 'expert' who came up with that stuff actually works for one of my competitors.

His company really are pretty mediocre.... and the other 'expert' at the end of the article doesn't even work for what I would regard as a security company - they are a generic systems integrator
