Right it’s about time I had my say on this forum and I don’t care if u don’t want to hear it. If you don’t, stop reading now!
I’m dumbfounded at all the tit for tat pish that goes on in here.
Most of the people if not all that post the “that’s it I’ve had enough of this place†type threads. Really have had enough of Australia!
And nothing anyone on here will change their minds.
Most of their reasons for leaving are exaggerated slightly and this I can understand. We and include me, would try to justify to the point of silliness our reasons for leaving. This is where I think they start to run Australia down. I’m fine with that because I would never normally be in here to read it and I wouldn’t bother my arse anyway because its their reasons and not mine.
Some people have had a horrendous time here and some will never be able to put their finger on why it just hasn’t worked out (well they know really, but they don’t want to tell us) for them. Either way what has that got to do with the people who love Oz?
Example: if someone was to say I really miss my family, work and all the shit things I complained about the uk. It would be seen as a weakness and we all know what happens on here if u ‘show’ any sign of weakness! So they post things like
“the Christmas decs are pish hereâ€
This could be argued all day, every day, without showing any weakness.
I would love to come in here and wish others that I have spoken to for years all the best with their future, but im a selfish bastard, and for two reasons.
1) I don’t want to hear any negative stuff about Oz. I’m lucky enough to be enjoying it and don’t really want to hear how shit it is for someone else (sorry, but that’s me)
2) I don’t want to sound as if I’m rubbing it in that my life is fantastic and theirs isn’t (I just worry that it might be taken that way)
So, could anyone who isn’t really on this forum to wish people the best of luck. Just read the post and leave it at that. These people for whatever reason are heading back to the UK. Some with regrets, some clicking their heels. The last thing they need right now is someone telling them that their local shop has better decs than any I have seen in the UK. They are lifting their family and moving them to the other side of the world to try and pick up from where they left off.
To me that’s just as stressful if not more than coming out here. Cos im sure even I would get into stupid arguments about who has the best Christmas, just to try and forget some of the stress for an hour.
Now be off with ya the lotta ya
And don’t bother to try and pick holes in this thread. U had a warning at the beginning so you should have stopped reading as soon as it started to irritate you!
And I have my fingers in my ears

When we were homesick if i had had somewhere like this to come to (only found it once it was too late
) it would have made such a difference to come on here and slag the place off, get it out of my system and then carry on. Homesickness is so lonely and sharing with cyber friends is so much easier than baring your soul in real life. I feel sorry for anyone being given a hard time just for struggling to settle, because that is all it comes down to.
