Moving back to UK - where to live?

Re: Moving back to UK - where to live?
There are occasionally concrete pre-fab houses that come up for sale in South Bucks , about 40 minutes to London by tube. 20 mins to Heathrow. Mortgage lenders will not lend on the houses, but they are 3 bed and set in the Chilterns.
There is one for sale at the moment for £265k for a 3 bed semi.
3 bedroom semi-detached house for sale in Lynton Road, Chesham, HP5

You can get a house in these places, BUT there is a reason they are cheap.....the neighbourhoods could be crime infested, the house could be a real dump, near big lower class estates...etc etc........you get what you pay for and 200k is LOW LOW.

You'd be looking North of Birmingham for the price range on the house, other than my home town of Swindon - we are selling a 3 bed end of terrace right now for just under 200k. It's not the prettiest Town in the world mind, but it has good links to London as well as the coast and is pretty much the only place for about 100 miles around in the price bracket.
You might find similar prices around Birmingham and it outlying areas, which still retains good links to the SE (I assume you mean by car).
