Default Moving back to the UK from Spain

I hope someone can offer me some helpful advice. We have lived in Spain for nearly 10 years and due to some unforeseen circumstances will probably have to come back to the UK. Unfortunately my daughter is 18 and has been at her secondary school since she was 11. She is in the first year of her bachlaurette course at Spanish school. Would it be possible for her to carry this on in the UK at college as she wants to hopefully go to Uni to study medicine or would she have to complete a two year A level course. How easy would this be to adjust. We really do not want to upset her course as she is doing so well and needs her title to go to University back in the UK, but we are having to make the decision to relocate back to our home town of North London due to work and other commitments and the problems that are facing Spain at the moment. Look forward to hearing your comments

We are moving back from Florida and we have found a school that offers IB for our 16 year old son. I don't know if this is the same kind of course your daughter is doing? If you know the area to which you'd be moving I would suggest doing an online search for schools/colleges that offer the international baccalaureate programme and get in touch with them. I would imagine that she should be able to transfer into the courses there...Good luck!

I would make the obvious (perhaps) comment, that in the British system, entry to University is based largely on passing exams. Not so very much on attending school.
I guess the theory is that if you don't go to class regularly you will find yourself in difficulty at exam time. But if you can pass the exams without going to class then you did not need to go to class.

Doing a first year by correspondence with Open University before going on to a conventional university is another option. It worked for me (many many years ago).
